Remembering Father Patrick J. McLaughlin

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of the Reverend Patrick J. McLaughlin.

On the evening of June 16th, 2025, the beloved Pastor Emeritus of Immaculate Conception Parish, Reverend Patrick J. McLaughlin returned to the House of the Lord and died peacefully surrounded by his family. Father McLaughlin served Immaculate Conception Parish as pastor since 2009 and retired in July 2023 after 49 years of priestly service to the Diocese of Scranton.

Father McLaughlin was a proud native of Hazleton, Pennsylvania and a devoted son of Saint Gabriel Parish and always insisted that his funeral would be celebrated there, regardless of where he was assigned in the Diocese of Scranton. For those who are unable to travel to Hazleton for Father McLaughlin’s funeral, a memorial mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church on Wednesday, June 25th at 7pm.

Viewing: 9:00 - 10:15 am

Pontifical Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 am
